The Super Eagles’ 2-1 setback to Ivory Coast in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday elicited a response from artist Charles Oputa, often known as Charly Boy.
After a head-off yesterday evening, Ivory Coast overcame Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the recently ended African Cup of Nations.
The Ivorians beat the Nigerians to win the AFCON, scoring two goals in the second half of the match.
In response to Nigeria’s loss, Charly Boy stated that although Jose Peseiro’s team gave it their all against Ivory Coast, the superior team prevailed.
He took to his Twitter page now X and tweeted, “The Super Eagles tried but the best team won. Oya, make we face the demons facing us.”.
Oputa began her career in music in 1982 and independently released the highlife track Obodo GiriGiri in 1984. His unusual appearance almost cost him a record contract with Polygram Nigeria in 1985, but he was signed by the label’s managing director Ton Seysener after being introduced to him, and Nwata Miss was eventually released.
