Akuapem Poloo after spending a couple of days in prison has finally regained her freedom but at a cost which is Ghc12,000.
A Court of Appeal has dismissed the 90-day jail term imposed on Actress Rosemond Alade Brown popularly known as Akuapem Poloo after she published a nude photo of herself and her innocent son on the internet.
A three-member panel of the court presided over by Justice Henry Anthony Kwofie and assisted by Justices Bright Mensah and Eric Baahv has changed the ruling and instead imposed a fine of GH¢12,000 on the controversial actress in default of which she will serve 90 days in a hard labor prison term.
Her lawyer, Andrew Vortia had initially failed to get the custodial sentence overturned after an Accra High Court dismissed her appeal and held that the Circuit Court was right in imposing the jail term to serve as a deterrent to others.
She was however warned never to repeat any of such stupid acts else her woes will be much greater when she appears in court again for a similar or different offense.
