The scale has tipped over to 340 pounds for him. , on the other hand, maintains that he’s finally figured out how to control his weight and that he’ll never return to his previous state.

In a new book, TODAY’s popular weather and feature anchor writes about his weight-loss journey. “Never Goin’ Back: Winning the Weight-Loss Battle For Good.”  He talked about his troubles with Matt Lauer on Thursday.

Roker said.

“I’m thrilled about where I am, Life is terrific; I wouldn’t trade it for a moment. But always wonder where you would be if ‘x’ hadn’t happened. I’m thrilled that I’ve finally got to this place at 58 years old. I finally got it figured out. I feel good about it.”

Roker made news a decade ago after getting gastric bypass surgery and reducing his weight from 340 pounds to 190 pounds. However, as he got rid of his fat-guy image, he reverted to old practices.

How did he lose weight?

Roker told Snyderman that a mix of diet, including a cleanse, and exercise helped him “put on the brakes” and lose weight four years ago. He went on a 28-day detox, abstaining from caffeine, alcohol, sweets, dairy, and gluten. He had shed 28 pounds by the conclusion of the four weeks.

He now consumes only uncooked, whole foods that are high in protein and low in carbohydrates. He also began a “slow method” workout regimen, which consists of 30-minute workout sessions per week.

Strength training increases lean body mass, which burns more calories, according to Snyderman.
