Alabama Band Jeff Cook Cause Of Death

The Tennessean received confirmation of his passing on November 8, 2022, from a band representative. Cook passed away at his Florida beachfront house in Destin. Along with his cousins Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry, Cook helped create a pattern for what a successful country band can accomplish as a guitarist, fiddler, and vocalist in Alabama.

Cook and the band filled in that rough outline. A string of successes that is now widely regarded as must-hear country music, including ‘Song of the South,” “Mountain Music”, “I’m In A Hurry, ” Cheap Seat,” and “My Homes in Alabama,” among many more.

Cause Of Death

On November 7, 2022, Jeff Cook, a founding member of the influential Country Music Hall of Fame band Alabama, passed away at the age of 73 years. Cook battled Parkinson’s disease, a degenerative nervous system ailment that impairs mobility and causes tremors, for ten years. In 2017, he made his illness public.
