Anne Michel was born on October 30, 1959, and lived for 64 years until her death on November 21, 2023.

Michel used to be a sprinter in Belgium. Throughout her career, she competed in the women’s 400m at the 1980 Summer Olympics.

Michel was also recognized for her participation in the 4 400m relay national record, which she set with Lea Alaerts, Regine Berg, and Rosine Wallez at the 1980 Moscow Olympics.

Michel set a Belgian record of 3’30″70 with Lea Alaerts, Régine Berg, and Rosine Wallez. This was good enough for seventh place in the Olympic final.

That Belgian record remained in place for 38 years until 2018, when Belgian Cheetahs Margo Van Puyvelde, Hanne Claes, Cynthia Bolingo, and Camille Laus set a new best time of 3’29″06 in 2018.
