A solid Bromance in its prime, veteran weatherman Al Roker and disgraced former Newscaster Matt Lauer were quite a pair on their morning show “The Today Show”.
The two, who have been friends for over 30 years became estranged in 2017 after Matt Lauer was accused of sexual assault. It took the intervention of a secondary source for the two friends to start talking again in 2019.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2019, Al Roker wished his former friend well by saying “I'm sure he is doing well. we don't really talk that much, but i wish him well”.

Following Roker's revelation recently that he is battling Prostate cancer, the two friends have began rebuilding their friendship.
A source close to the two revealed ” there isn't a more genuine relationship than what Matt and Al share. Al is very grateful for having a friend like Matt, during this hard period”.
