Kevin Smith called up his VIP companions for Clerks III, and a lot of them are highlighted in the trailer. Sixteen years after Clerks II, Jay (Jason Mewes), Silent Bob (Smith) and the entire posse are together once more – – and on second thought of watching motion pictures, they’re making one!

After Randal (Jeff Anderson) has a wellbeing alarm, he chooses to turn into a producer and make a film about the odds and ends shop and his companions. Likewise repeating their jobs are Brian O’Halloran as Dante, Rosario Dawson as Becky, and Trevor Fehrman as Elias.

The trailer makes a point to honor the movies that have preceded it. “Jay and Silent Bob are like C-3PO and R2-D2,” says Randal. “They’ve been here starting from the primary film, which was the last time they were cool, yet they’ve been with the establishment so lengthy, they actually give them appearances and put them on the lunch boxes.”

In another scene, Dante asks not to be killed off in the event that there’s a continuation, to which Randal keenly answers, “A spin-off? What am I, a hack?”

Also, with regards to trying out individuals for the film, Fred Armisen, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ben Affleck all make an appearance to understand lines.

This wouldn’t be whenever Affleck first has been in a Smith film. Truth be told, he played “ogling fellow” in Clerks II and featured in Chasing Amy and Jersey Girl.

Back in 2019, Smith imparted to ET how he persuaded Affleck to have an appearance in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. He said everything returned to Chasing Amy.

“I had a decent mull over it, and I awakened and I was like – – Ben played Holden, who was the co-maker of Bluntman and Chronic in the folklore of our films and stuff, so I could maneuver him into the third demonstration,” Smith shared. “Essentially, there’s a scene that is the close to home finish of the flick, that is his scene, that didn’t exist earlier. It was like, one expendable visual second. In any case, with him going like, ‘I’ll come join the party Holden,’ we had the option to do an eight-page spin-off of Chasing Amy, squarely in the center of Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.”

The producer appears to have pulled Affleck back into his film universe indeed with Clerks III, which is set to hit venues on Sept. 13 and Sept. 15.
