Betty White’s publicist and long-time friend, Jeff Witjas, revealed this to PEOPLE on Wednesday.
“The arrangements are being handled privately and that was Betty’s wish.”

Jeff Witjas did not disclose the location of the private funeral and whether any of “The Golden Girls” alum’s celebrity pals will be in attendance.
“Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever,” Witjas said in a statement last week.
“I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much. I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband, Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.”
