Bob Ross born Robert Norman Ross is a famous American painter, television host, and art instructor. He was born on the 29th of October, 1942 in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was born to Ollie Ross who was a waitress and Jack Ross who was a carpenter.
He had a half-brother called Jim. They have raised in Orlando, Florida. Growing up, Ross would care for injured animals such as snakes, alligators, squirrels, and armadillos.
Ross dropped out of high school when he was in the 9th grade and began working as a carpenter with his father. He lost a part of his left index finger due to the work but it didn't affect his ability to hold a palette while painting.
Ross went on to become a very successful painter known all over the world. He created and hosted the show The Joy of Painting which aired on PBS in the United States and CBC in Canada. The show aired from the year 1983 to the year 1994.
It was an Instructional television program that aired on similar channels in Europe, Latin America, and all over the world.
