Burna Boy Confirmed To Perform At 2024 Grammys

Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, a Nigerian Afrobeats and Dancehall musician, has been added to the schedule of performers for the 2024 Grammys, which will take place next month.

The Recording Academy announced the ‘Last Last’ crooner as a performer on Monday morning, adding that other performers include American singer Luke Combs and hip-hop sensation Travis Scott.

Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, and Billie Eilish are among the other acts who were previously confirmed.

“Attention: African Giant @BurnaBoy will take the #GRAMMYs stage on Sunday, February 4th at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT on @CBS,” the Grammy organisers wrote on Twitter.

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu also known as Burna Boy, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and record producer. He is widely considered as one of the most important African artists of his generation, earning the title of “King of Afrofusion”.

The majority of Burna Boy’s music is pop and Afrobeats. He calls his sound Afro-fusion, a synthesis of dancehall, reggae, hip hop, and R&B. Burna Boy’s sound is described as “savvy and modern but undistracted by obvious crossover moves” by August Brown of the Los Angeles Times.
