The Kansas City Chiefs named Brett Veach as their new general manager on Monday. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero broke the story first. Veach, who has been with the Chiefs since 2013, will take over for former General Manager John Dorsey, who was fired in June after four years on the job.

Dorsey was fired due to “concerns about his internal communication and management styles,” according to Terez A. Paylor of the Kansas City Star. Dorsey and head coach Andy Reid helped lead the Chiefs to four straight winning seasons and a 43-21 overall record after the team finished 2-14 in 2012.

Chiefs General Manager Salary

A Chief General Manager’s annual salary in the United States is $128613. General managers typically earn between $1 million and $7.5 million per year on the low end of the scale.

The disparity in pay is due to the fact that some general managers are seasoned veterans, while others are in their first few years as a GM.
