Chris Penn was an American actor born on October 10, 1965, in Los Angeles, California, U.S. as Christopher Shannon Penn to actress Eileen Ryan and actor and director Leo Penn.
Chris started acting at the Loft Studio at the age of 12. In the 1979's, he made his film debut with Charlie and the Talking Buzzard, starring Christopher Hanks.
Chris is known to be a skilled character actor from a prominent acting dynasty throughout his acting career. Chris was often cast as a tough character, starring as a villain or a working-class thug, or sometimes in a comic role, and was known for his roles played in films such as The Wild Life, Reservoir Dogs, The Funeral, Footloose, Rush Hour, Corky Romano, True Romance, Beethoven's 2nd, Short Cuts, The Boys Club, All the Right Moves, At Close Range, Pale Rider, and Starsky & Hutch.

Chris died on January 24, 2006, at the age of 40, he was found in his apartment in Santa Monica, California, U.S. An autopsy result shown that the cause of his death was “nonspecific cardiomyopathy” a heart disease.
