Joe Williams was a basketball coach at a college level in the United States.
From 1964 to 1970, he was the head coach of the Jacksonville University men's basketball team, and from 1970 to 1978, he was the head coach of the Jacksonville University women's basketball team.
He was the coach of the Furman University men's basketball team and the Florida State University men's basketball team from 1978 to 1986.

Joe (JB) Williams was born on September 1, 1948, to the late Houston and Eva Williams, and his prayers were fulfilled on March 1, 2022, when he was carried home by his loving Lord.
His family was his biggest love and delight in life. His loving wife of 51 years, Alice, his sons, Ricky (Christy) and Chris (Quantella), daughter, Michele (Kevin), and “son” Wayne (Kathy); cherished grandchildren, Hailey, Jordan, Christopher, Ella, and Lucy; sisters, Peggy (Jobeel) and Pat (Richard); and brother, Jimmy are among those left to carry on his light (Tena). Brothers David and Bobby, as well as a good buddy Mike, preceded him in death.
