June Jackson was born Dame Temuranga Batley-Jackson on August 24, 1939.

Dame June Jackson was a New Zealand Māori activist and public servant noted for serving as chief executive officer (CEO) of the Manukau Urban Māori Authority from 1986 to 2009.

From 1991 until her demise in March this year, June was a member of the New Zealand Parole Board.

Details about the institution Dame June Jackson attained her formal education is unknown and information about her background also remains undisclosed.

June Jackson was in the 1996 Queen’s Birthday Honors appointed a Companion of the Queen’s Service Order for public services.

In the Queen’s 2010 Birthday Honors, June Jackson was again appointed Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit, for her services to Māori.

That notwithstanding, Jackson passed away on March 28, 2022.
