The Giants turned down Daniel Jones’ fifth-year option for 2023 in April 2022. Jones led the team to a 21-20 comeback victory in the season opener against the Tennessee Titans by throwing for 188 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.

In Week 5’s surprise victory over the Green Bay Packers, Jones completed 21 of his 27 attempts for passes, threw for 217 yards, and gained 37 yards on 10 rushes.

In Week 7’s 23-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Jones passed for 202 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 107 yards, becoming the first Giants quarterback to accomplish it since Frank Filchock in 1946.

Jones earned the title of NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 7 as a result of his performance.

Jones Salary signed a four-year, $25.664 million rookie contract after being chosen sixth overall. At the time of contract signing in 2022, a $200,000 salary was fully guaranteed. However, Jones is due to be a free agent in 2023.
