Davido, the ace afrobeat singer, surprises his fans by deleting almost all of his Instagram posts, including his profile photo.
Remember how the singer promised to return to Instagram with a new album in March? Many of his fans have been anticipating his return for months.
Things changed after Davido removed his profile picture and deleted over 4,000 posts from his page.
On his profile, there are just pictures of his late son Ifeanyi Adeleke, him and his wife Chioma, and one of his performances in the World Cup in Qatar.
Many of the singer’s supporters are alarmed, perplexed, and appear to believe it is a terrible omen.
Davido created the record company Davido Music Worldwide in July 2016 after announcing on Twitter that he had secured a record deal with Sony Music in January 2016. The label is now home to the artists Dremo, Mayorkun, Yonda, and Peruzzi. Davido and Sony’s RCA Records inked a record deal in July 2016. His five-track EP Son of Mercy, which included the singles “Gbagbe Oshi,” “How Long,” and “Coolest Child in Africa,” was released in October 2016.
