The legendary Juju singer Dayo Kujore died at age 63. The sad news of his demise was broken by his daughter and his widow. He was the pioneer of the famous Nigerian-styled musical art form. The “Soxo Extra ” coroner’s demise occurred on Monday, 10 January 2022.
The highly famed singer was confirmed dead at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Ikeja, Lagos. His daughter Ayinke Kujore confirmed her father died on Monday afternoon from a brief illness.
However, the cause of his death is yet to be made public through a formal report by the family.
The date and venue for the burial of the music legend is yet to be decided by the family. We will keep you updated once there is a formal arrangement for his burial.
As a public figure, there may be special arrangements for his funerals service. We will have to wait for new developments from the family.
The legendary musician Dayo Kujore started his music career from the church before he got massive popularity. He began playing the guitar at 10 and rose to become famous for creating a new tune from the Juju genre called Soko music.
His debut in the music industry was in 1991 with his highly famed album Super Jet. Some of his other albums are Aditu Ede Adekunle Gbede’, You Tell Me That You Love Me Baby and others.
The musician will always be remembered for his songs Wisdom, Easy Life. His last song Happy Birthday was released in 2020.
