Rapper and musician Odwa “Dee Koala” Situma reflected on his five years as a brand ambassador for Adidas South Africa.
She recently talked openly about how she cherished working with the company in an interview on SlikourOnLife.
“The relationship with me and Adi [Adidas] is just home, man. They like me for me. What drew them to me was when I did my first capsule and I was dressed in Adi and they just dig my energy, the person beside the music.
“They say I’m a bit of a character. I don’t know, but they also like the fact that I’m a human being and I influence with all of me. The fact that I’m also able to drip in Adi the way I want is the most comfortable thing ever. I just love being with them, it’s home, the clothes are comfortable, and it’s my kind of swag,” Dee Koala said.
On a POPcast 4 Real episode, the rapper—who recently released Gwan with artist Maglera Doe Boy—explained that the song’s creation took two years. She claimed that although it was originally intended to belong to Maglera, she ended up writing the verse and the hook.
“Our relationship is so cool because it doesn’t feel like owing or favours, it’s just fun like that. It keeps us on our toes, which is why he and I have such a cool relationship. He laced his verse, I didn’t put a verse, then I went home, things happened.”
