Fans going to Billy Joel’s Saturday night show at Detroit’s Comerica Park gotten a weighty metal treat when he was joined by an unexpected visitor: Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott.

Elliott collaborated with the unbelievable Piano Man for an unruly front of the band’s 1987 uber hit “Pour Some Sugar On Me”.

To say the group was excited is putting it mildly; in swarm shot video of the exhibition, Elliott drives the crowd in a singalong of the melody while Joel should be visible adding backing vocals and piano backup.

As Blabbermouth brings up, this denotes the third time that Elliott has joined Joel in show, having recently showed up at a 2018 show at Boston’s Fenway Park and a 2019 exhibition at Madison Square Garden in NYC.

In the mean time, Elliott’s appearance in Detroit wasn’t completely irregular; Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe are booked to perform at a similar setting on Sunday night, the most recent stop on their Stadium Tour.
