Porter's performance as Lola in Kinky Boots earned him the 2013 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. Additionally, Porter also took home the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for his performance in the part. The actor who had a career span of over two decades is also a Grammy-award-winning actor.
