At the age of 10, Dustin Poirier was detained after knocking out an adult's teeth in his father's neighborhood in a makeshift boxing ring.
Poirier was immediately placed in a juvenile prison facility and afterwards in a boot camp with a military theme. Even still, Dustin Poirier's attitude toward education remained unchanged as a result of that incident, and he left out shortly after.
Dustin Poirier Parents: Jere' Folley Chaisson, Darrell Poirier
Jere' Folley Chiasson, an American mother, and Darrell Poirier, a Frenchman, were the parents of Dustin Poirier.
Poirier's father Darrell, despite nothing is known about him, was reportedly also a fighter like himself. Even going so far as to claim to be a third-generation fighter, Dustin Poirier suggests that his grandfather is the source of his fighting heritage.
When “The Diamond” was five years old, Dustin Poirier's mother, Jere' Folley Chiasson, divorced him. Since then, Poirier has spent the majority of his time growing up with his mother and two siblings.
