The award-winning Afrobeats artist, David Adeleke, better known by his stage name, Davido, secretly married his long-time lover, Chioma Rowland, only five days after their baby died.
Remember that on November 1st, the internet was ablaze with reports of their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, drowning in a swimming pool at his father's property in Banana Island, Lagos State.
According to reports, Chioma's relatives prevented the Adeleke family from burying Ifeanyi because they claimed that since Chioma and Davido were not officially married, Ifeanyi was their son. a custom observed in some areas of Igbo Land.
It was reported that, Chioma's bride price was paid in a discreet and private traditional marriage ceremony in Lagos on Friday, November 4, 2022, before the deceased was buried on November 5.
The Adelekes, a member of Davido's family, were welcomed by Chioma's kinsmen from Ezeala Odu, Owerre Nkwoji, in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State at Chioma's family home in Lekki, Lagos, where the traditional wedding took place on November 4, 2022.
On January 2, 2023, the last marriage rites were supposed to be performed in Chioma's hometown in Imo State.
