Burna Boy, a well-known Afrobeats singer, suggests that the Recording Academy create a new Grammy category for “Best African Music Performance” in his honor.

The well-known African musician expressed his regret with the establishment of the new African Music category.

He revealed this in a current interview with the Los Angeles Times.

Burna Boy questioned whether the Recording Academy’s newly created category would hold the same prestige as the others.

Burna said …

“I do feel somewhat responsible for the new ‘Best African Music Performance’ category, which is nice. At the same time, what is it really? Is it a consolation category? Will it hold as much prestige? I’m waiting to see.”

Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu and who was born in Nigeria on July 2, 1991, is a singer, songwriter, and record producer.
