Hasan Doan Piker, popularly known as HasanAbi (abi means “big brother” in Turkish), was born on July 25, 1991. He is a Turkish-American Twitch streamer and left-leaning political pundit.
In March 2018, Piker began broadcasting on Twitch while he was employed at TYT.
Piker claims he switched his focus from Facebook to Twitch to appeal to a younger audience and because he felt there were too many right-wing commentators on YouTube and not enough progressive voices.
He rose to fame as a left-leaning political analyst and was invited to speak on Chapo Trap House and The Issue Is on Fox News.
Piker also broadcasts video game analysis and gaming on his Twitch channel. Highlights of his streams are featured on his YouTube account.
Piker got the most Twitch viewership for the first 2020 presidential debate on September 29, with over 125,000 viewers to his reaction stream.
