On Friday, April 14, three representatives posing as civilians reportedly conducted an operation nearby.

When NDLEA agents were transporting a suspected drug dealer to a patrol van waiting at a nearby street along IKwerre Road Iheoma Street in Mile 3 Diobu, thugs attacked the agents. The neighbourhood is known as “50.”

According to reports, the thugs began throwing stones and bottles at the NDLEA team while carrying a variety of weapons, injuring some of the cops in the process.

The culprit, identified as “50,” was apprehended with sizable amounts of cannabis sativa, according to the NDLEA, which verified the attack on its employees.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt, NDLEA spokesman for Rivers State Command, Emmanuel Ogbumgbada, claimed that the thugs also carried away the drugs found alongside the suspect.

However, according to the statement headlined “Mob attack on operatives of NDLEA Rivers State Command,” the state commander had directed the fugitives and his gang members' re-arrest.

In the evening of Friday, April 14, 2023, NDLEA Rivers state command agents raided a hangout/drinking establishment near Odunze Street, mile 3 Diobu, Port Harcourt, and arrested suspected drug dealer Izuu Isuofia, also known as “50,” who was found in possession of a significant amount of Cannabis Sativa.

“While trying to move the suspect to the patrol van, he raised the alarm and resisted arrest, which led to a fight.

Within minutes, hoodlums attacked our officers in their large numbers with bottles and stones, and they managed to free the already handcuffed suspect and cart away his evidence before our backup team arrived.

Ahmed Mamuda, the state commander, has instructed the command's agents to use all available arsenals to make sure that the suspect and his allies are apprehended and prosecuted.
