Martin Duffy, a keyboardist for Primal Scream, passed away at age 55. Tim Burgess, Duffy’s former bandmate in The Charlatans, tweeted a confirmation of the news with the message: “Another awful loss of a great soul.”
Duffy, a Birmingham native, joined the independent band Felt at the age of 16, and the group later signed a record deal with Creation Records.
Martin Duffy remained a member of Primal Scream for the next three decades, transitioning from a part-time to a full-time role. He also had a guest appearance on frontman Bobby Gillespie’s 2020 album, “Utopian Ashes,” with Savages’ Jehnny Beth.
