According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the body of Lifei “Ada” Huang was discovered early Sunday morning. Authorities stated on Saturday that someone flying a drone in the region may have seen Huang.
“Deputies and search and rescue team members responded to the upper San Antonio Creek Falls area but were unable to hike to the spot where Ms Huang was believed to be, due to the conditions on the mountain,” according to a statement released by the sheriff’s office.
High winds also prevented sheriff’s aviation officers from conducting an airborne search on Saturday. To preserve the site, search and rescue team members spent the night in the surrounding region, according to police. The next morning, at 7:45 a.m., personnel hauled medics down to the scene, where Huang was discovered dead.
