Every year on November 1st, thousands of people participate in No Nut November, or NNN as it is also known, which involves abstaining from self-pleasure for the entire month.

Men are not allowed to touch themselves in any way, aka ‘bust a nut,’ and if they can refrain for the entire month of November, they pass the challenge.
Initially, the trend was just a meme that people laughed about online. It’s now turned into a whole challenge with very strict rules.

According to Know Your Meme, the rules were laid out by yeeval on the subreddit ‘/r/nonutnovember’ on November 1, 2018.

Although the original rules received 2,600 upvotes and 575 comments, variations of them have since gone viral on social media.

Although No Nut November was created to be satirical, some participants believe that abstaining from ejaculating and watching pornography has health benefits. No Nut November was first mentioned in the Urban Dictionary in 2011, and the movement gained traction on social media in 2017.
