Sonny Gray, a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Minnesota Twins, was born on November 7, 1989 in the United States. He formerly played for the Cincinnati Reds, Oakland Athletics and New York Yankees. On March 13, 2022, the Reds traded Chase Petty and Francis Peguero to the Minnesota Twins for Gray. While a student at Vanderbilt University, Gray played baseball for the Vanderbilt Commodores. In the first round of the 2011 MLB Draft, the Athletics picked Gray. He made his Major League Baseball debut in 2013. The American League Pitcher of the Month Award was given to him twice in 2014. He was chosen as an MLB All-Star for the 2015 season. Prior to the 2019 season, the Yankees traded for Gray, who was then moved to the Reds.
