The daughter of Robert Deal Alley, the owner of a lumber Company, and Lillian Alley was born in Wichita, Kansas. Alley was born on January 12, 1951, and sadly passed away on December 5, 2022. Alley graduated in 1969 from Wichita Southeast High School. After her sophomore year of college, she left Kansas State University.

For the television movie David’s Mother from 1994, Alley won her second Emmy.
In 1995, Alley was honored with a motion picture star at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her achievements in the film industry.

In addition to acting as executive producer for the NBC sitcom Veronica’s Closet from 1997 to 2000, Alley also portrayed the show’s less role. From 2000 to 2004, Alley worked as a spokesman for Pier One, and from 20o4 to 2007, she did the same for Jenny Craig.
