Nicholas Scott Cannon was born on October 8, 1980, in San Diego, California. Cannon was raised by his paternal grandfather. He is an American actor, rapper, television presenter, and comedian. As a TV presenter, Cannon started as a teenager on “All That” before going on to host The Nick Cannon Show, “Wild ‘n Out”, “America's Got Talent”, “Lip Sync Battle Shorties”, and “The Masked Singer”. He acted in the films “Drumline”, Love Don't Cost a Thing, and Roll Bounce. Cannon grew up in Lincoln Park's Bay Vista Housing Projects, which is a gang-ridden section of Southeast San Diego. In his teenage years, he associated with the “Lincoln Park Bloods” street gang, but he ended that after he lost a close friend. He graduated from Monte Vista High School in Spring Valley in 1998, where he was president of the African Student Coalition and participated in track and field. Cannon also got his first chance in comedy by doing stand-up comedy on his father's local cable access program.
As a rapper and singer, he released his first album “self-titled” in 2003 with the single “Gigolo”, a collaboration he had with singer R. Kelly. Cannon also recorded the singles “Dime Piece” and “My Wife” for the planned album Stages in 2006 which was never released. As an actor, he played the role of the fictional footballer TJ Harper in the film “Goal II: Living the Dream” in 2007.

Cannon married singer and songwriter Mariah Carey on April 30, 2008. On April 30, 2011, the two welcomed fraternal twins, Monroe and Moroccan Scott. After six years of marriage, they separated and filed for divorce in 2014, but reunited briefly in 2015 and then finalized their divorce in 2016.
Cannon also has two children with model Brittany Bell; a son, Golden, who was born on February 2017, and a daughter, Powerful Queen, born in December 2020.
In June 2021, he fathered twin sons with DJ Abby De La Rosa who was named, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir. Not long after, in June 23, model Alyssa Scott gave birth to his seventh child, a son, Zen.
Zen, unfortunately, died on December 5, 2021, of brain cancer when he was only five months old.
