“I Feel Inspired By Afrobeats” – DJ Khaled Reveals He Has Burna Boy On His Upcoming Album And Would Love To Work With Tems

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Mohammed Khaled, popularly known as DJ Khaled, a prominent American disc jockey and record producer, stated that Afrobeats influence him.

DJ Khaled told the reporter that he was seventy-five percent done with his record, which is scheduled for release in 2024.

As he was gushing about how much fun it was working with Canadian rapper Drake, he revealed that Burna Boy, a well-known Afrobeat artist from Nigeria, would be featured on a future album.

When explaining how Afrobeats inspired him, the DJ emphasized the spiritual connection he feels between Afrobeats and Dancehall.

He also expressed a desire to work with Grammy winner Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems.

According to rolling stones;

“He’s also got Burna Boy on the album, and he says he’s been feeling inspired lately by Afrobeats, finding a similar spiritual connection to the one he feels with dancehall: Khaled’s time in Jamaica early in his DJ career gave him a special affinity for Caribbean culture.”

While some Afrobeats fans praised the Disc Jockey, others commended Burna Boy and Tems for always bringing Nigeria and Afrobeats to the world stage.
