Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji aka Oladips, a Nigerian rapper signed to Reminisce’s LRR Records, has opened up about the complexities of his experience.

He claimed that despite having a hit song called “Lalakukulala” that he released in 2017, he was so broke that he couldn’t feed his family.

OAP Nedu, Husband Material, and other co-hosts of The Honest Bunch podcast recently featured an interview with Oladips, who recently made headlines due to a death hoax.

The performer recalled that although Lalakulala was receiving a lot of airplay, he was going without food at home. This was one of the factors that caused him to leave the record label in 2019.

He claimed in 2019 that he left LRR Records with only N23,000 in his bank account and that Reminisce forced him to sign a fraudulent contract.

The same year, Oladips released “Maybe,” a diss track in which he expressed regret for signing to Reminisce’s label. According to him, Reminisce stated that he was not making money for the label, making his life as his signee difficult.

The contentious performer further asserted that the record label exploited him by severing his earnings and compelling him to pass up other business prospects. Watch him talk in the following video:
