South African singer and songwriter, Bulelwa Mkutukana, best known by her stage name Zahara has opened a case after 6 of her hard-earned music award got stolen at her home in Ruimsig, Roodepoort.
The six South African Music Award plagues, which stood on a Z-shaped stand in her home bar, were her pride until the unknown culprit made away with them after getting access into her house.
Speaking to ‘Drum’ begged whoever it was to return her awards. She added that if the person is scared of being seen, he or she can just ditch them in front of her gate.
“I don’t care even if the person leaves them at my gate. I want those awards back”, she said.
The South African Music Awards spokesperson Lesley Mofokengs stated that whoever and wherever the perpetrator or perpetrators are, they need to be brought to book.
“We know what those SAMAS meant to her, and we are proud to be associated with an artist of her caliber. It is quite upsetting that crime has reached this level, and people are taking trophies that mean so much to the artists. The trophy symbolizes her hard work, and we truly wish the trophies are returned and preparators brought to book”
