IGP Orders Investigation Into Alleged Shooting By Burna Boy’s Security Escorts

The Inspector-General of the Nigerian Police, Usman Alkali Baba has ordered a thorough investigation into the alleged shooting by some escorts of singer, Burna Boy which reportedly took place in a club in Lagos.

 

According to earlier reports, Burna Boy’s guards manhandled some persons at Cubana’s club in Lagos and shot them after. Social media blogger, Cutie Juls who shared a screenshot of a chat with a friend of one of the victims of the assault revealed that Burna’s guards had shot them in their balls.

In a new development to the incident, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi has revealed that the IGP has ordered a full-scale investigation into the case to punish the perpetrators.

 

“Police personnel alleged and identified in the shooting incident at Club Cubana in Victoria Island, Lagos on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, have been taken into custody and are being investigated for their involvement in the incident. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba NPM, psc(+), fdc, who describes the circumstances surrounding the incident as unbelievable, has however condemned, in the strongest terms, the unfortunate incident. Consequently, the IGP has directed the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Abiodun Alabi, to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter and forward his report as urgent as possible for further action,” CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said in a press release.
