Jolie attended Beverly Hills High School, then transferred to Moreno High School, where she graduated and decided she wanted to act so enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, training for two years before appearing in several stage productions.
Jolie began her filming career with the low-budget production Cyborg 2 (1993), before her first leading role in a major film, Hackers (1995).
Jolie’s subsequent works include critically acclaimed biographical cable films George Wallace (1997), Gia (1998), Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), Wanted (2008), Salt (2010), The Tourist (2010), A Mighty Heart (2007) and Changeling (2008), including her biggest commercial successes Maleficent (2014), its 2019 sequel, and the superhero film Eternals (2021).
