First Avenue was accused on social media of not caring about the LGBTQ+ community, putting its “queer workers and clients at risk,” and “hating trans people” after adding Chappelle to its talent schedule earlier this week.One employee of Reclaim, a clothing company that creates Pride T-shirts for First Avenue and offers mental health assistance for LGBTQ+ youth, threatened to ask their supervisor to break relations with the establishment “since they’ve opted to platform and profit off anti-trans hatred.” A screenshot taken by another user of the First Avenue website showed that the establishment does not accept “racist, sexist, ableist, transphobic, homophobic, xenophobic or other discriminatory words, including intentional misgendering.”

Unfortunately yes,the Dave Chappelle show was canceled however due to a few controversies.The Dave Chappelle stand-up event in Minneapolis was postponed on Wednesday just before the comedian was supposed to take the stage.Chappelle faced criticism for remarks he made against transgender people in his Netflix comedy special, “The Closer,” last year, and First Avenue issued a statement hours before Chappelle was scheduled to appear in response. On Wednesday, Chappelle’s show was moved to the neighboring Varsity Theater, where he will also perform on Thursday and Friday.
