Gary Pearson was an English professional footballer and manager who was born on December 7, 1976, in Seaham, County Durham.
He played for Sheffield United, Stalybridge Celtic, Gateshead, Spennymoor United, Seaham Red Star, Whitby Town, Durham City, Darlington, York City, Bedlington Terriers, Horden Colliery Welfare, Sunderland Nissan, Spennymoor Town, and Crook Town as a defender and midfielder.
Pearson began his career as a member of the Sheffield United youth system before signing a professional contract with the club on July 3, 1995.
After three years with United, he moved to non-league football with Stalybridge Celtic on March 22, 1996.
He played for Gateshead in the Football Conference for two seasons, making 34 appearances and scoring two goals in 1996-97 and four appearances and scoring one goal in 1997-98.
Pearson shared time with his brother Alan at Seaham Red Star and Durham City. Pearson, 45, died of a suspected heart attack on July 1, 2022.
