Polish tennis player Hubert Hurkacz was born on February 11, 1997 and plays professionally. The highest-ranked Polish male in singles history, he initially attained the No. 9 spot in the world in November 2021, according to the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). His five ATP Tour singles victories include a Masters 1000 victory at the Miami Open in 2021. He became the first Pole to win an ATP Masters 1000 championship with the victory. In doubles, Hurkacz also holds a career-high position of No. 30, which he obtained in June 2022.

Wojciech Fibak, a former player in the top 10 who focuses on defensive baseline play, described Hurkacz as “an excellent, versatile player who can attack, accelerate, and defend.” Hurkacz plays an all-court style with an emphasis on baseline defense. Given his height of 196 cm (6’5″), Hurkacz is a powerful batter. He is a strong backhand and forehand hitter who also serves well, with a top service that can reach 151 mph (243 km/h). But like many of the more dominant players on the tour, consistency has been cited as a weakness. Hurkacz consistently plays well from the back of the court.

In addition to holding the ball in the court, he plays a low, flat, and dangerous ball. Hurkacz has cultivated a standing as a diver on the court throughout the years. Hurkacz clarifies his distinctive movements by saying, “When playing on a hardcourt or clay court, it’s usually best to avoid diving since you risk getting hurt when you drop from the dive. On grass, though, it’s rather pleasant. There are instances when you simply must attempt to reach a ball that is rather far away.”

Hubert Hurkacz is a vegan. For the past several years Hurkacz has adhered to a vegan diet. But he admitted in his interview with ATP that “I didn’t enjoy most of the vegetables and salad at all when I was a youngster.”
