The Green Bay Packers reported former NFL star John Brockington’s passing and stated that he passed away in San Diego, on March 31, 2023, aged 74.

John had previously received two cancer diagnoses, according to his pal Ron Maciejowski. Brockington got a kidney transplant from Diane, who later became his wife, twenty years ago.

Ashley and Kelly, the late NFL star’s two children, are also left behind.

Brockington was chosen by the Packers with the ninth overall selection after a trade-up. He had six seasons and one game of service with the Packers, racking up 5,024 yards on 1,293 rushing tries (3.9 average) and 138 pass catches for 1,075 yards. (7.3 average). In 1975 and 1976, he was only able to sprint 434 and 406 yards, respectively.
The Packers fired him following the 1977 season’s inaugural contest. He signed with Kansas City three weeks later and appeared in the team’s final 10 games.

Brockington’s career was over when the Lions released him less than two weeks after the Chiefs traded him to Detroit during training camp a year later.
