Kirstie Alley, a versatile American, passed away. The renowned actress was 71 years old.

Alley went suddenly after a fight with cancer that was “just recently found,” according to a statement posted on her social media accounts by her children, son William “True” Stevenson, 30, and daughter Lillie Price Stevenson, 28.

Kristie gained fame for her roles in the TV show “Cheers,” as well as in “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” and “Look Who’s Talking.”

She was the subject of a class-action lawsuit for allegedly using deceptive advertising in 2012. In contrast to the claims made in the lawsuit, she allegedly lost weight through exercise, including training for the television program Dancing With the Stars.

After the parent company of Jenny Craig acquired and incorporated the Organic Liaison product line into Jenny Craig’s line of goods in April 2014, Kristie returned to Jenny Craig as a spokesperson. Alley claimed to have lost 50 pounds since restarting the Jenny Craig weight-loss program in January 2015.
