Macy Gray born on the 6th of September, 1967 in Canton, Ohio is a famous American actress and singer. She was born Natalie Renee McIntyre.

Macy was raised by her mother Laura McIntyre and stepfather Otis Jones. Her mother was a math teacher and her stepfather was a steelworker. Macy has a sister and a younger brother called Nate. Her sister is a biology teacher and her younger brother owns a gym in West Philadelphia.

Macy started learning the piano when was only seven years old. She pursued a degree in Scriptwriting at the University of Southern California.

Macy has a distinct singing style that was heavily influenced by Billie Holiday and her distinct raspy voice makes her unique in the music world.

Macy has released ten studio albums and has won one Grammy Award with five nominations. She has featured in a number of films notably; Spider-Man, Idlewild, For Colored Girls, Training Day, and The Paperboy among many others.
