Theodore John Kaczynski is also known as the Unabomber. Kaczynski was a former domestic terrorist in the United States. He was born on May 22, 1942. Kaczynski excelled in mathematics but gave up his academic career in 1969 to live a simpler life.
On American Airlines Flight 444, a Boeing 728 travelling from Chicago to Washington, D.C., a bomb was placed in the cargo hold in 1979.
The bomb was not able to detonate due to a malfunction timing device, but it did generate smoke, which forced the pilots to make an emergency landing. Officials claimed it had the potential to “obliterate the airliner” in the event of an explosion.

When Kaczynski was 79 years old, he was moved from the supermax prison in Florence to the Federal Medical Center in Center in Burner, North Carolina. This transfer happened on December 14, 2021, and the rationale behind it was cited as a medical reason.
