As the first rapper to wed, Kwesta led the charge when he tied the knot with Yolanda in 2019. He advises individuals not to make this choice lightly nevertheless.

Zingah praised the rapper for being the first in their generation to get married and referred to it as the “umshado wave” in a recent interview on Choppin It With Bhuda T.

“The umshado is not a wave or a level, it is not something you should aim to do because it’s a rite of passage. Don’t fu*ing do that s*t . Don’t do it like that.

Do it because something spoke to you inside and you felt you couldn’t live any day further without knowing you want to live the rest of your life with this person. This has nothing to do with who did this before, please don’t do that.”

The rapper admitted he did not go on one knee.

“I did it right. I started with the uncles first, then I told my wife I had sent the uncles. That is why I’m saying it was never a thing.”

Although their relationship has been dubbed “couple goals,” Kwesta previously claimed that despite everything, they are just an everyday couple going through struggles and victories who are still able to preserve their love through it all.

“We are not goals. Like everyone, we take small strides each day to try to reach those together. There has been joy, pain, love, gratitude, disappointment, love, gains, losses, love. Katlehong, Maldives, love, kisses, voetseks, love, strength, fear, love, good hair days and that thing on my head … And then love once again … Then we try grow that, grow us,” he wrote.
