Actor Seun Jimoh has issued a passionate appeal to the Nigerian government, requesting that a food emergency be declared.
Jimoh emphasized the urgent need for action to address this grave issue, since millions of Nigerians are suffering from hunger.
Stressing the terrible effects of the current situation on families across the country, he pleaded on the federal government to come up with a plan to act quickly to combat hunger and food insecurity in Nigeria.
According to him, famine should only strike the country in times of conflict or when there are no arable lands.
In his words:
“Dear Nigerian government, it is time to declare a state of emergency on food production. The only time there should be famine in the land is if there is a war or if there are no arable lands. There is no reason why food should be scarce in Nigeria.”
In 2007, he landed his first supporting role in the family television drama series Super Story and the Nigeria Yoruba soap opera “Kilanta,” which aired on Africa Magic Yoruba. His breakthrough performance was in the lead roles of A Long Night and The Ex (II) in 2015. This part also earned him the title of Revelation of the Year (male) at the 2016 Best of Nollywood Awards.
