Jill Dando was a journalist and televison presenter, best known for hosting BBC News and Crimewatch. Dando had worked for the BBC throughout most of her career, and won the broadcaster Personality of the Year award in 1997.

Dando was born on November 9, 1961, unfortunately, she passed away on April 26, 1999. She died at the age of 37 years.

The Weston Mercury, a neighborhood weekly newspaper where Dando’s father and brother also worked, hired Dando as a trainee reporter.

When Dando began working for the BBC in 1988 as a newsreader for BBC Radio Devon, Dando had already worked as as print journalist for five years. Dando was shot and killed outside her home early on April 26.

The subsequent investigation grew to become the greatest homicide probe ever conducted by the Metropolitan Police as well as the biggest felony probe since the search for the Yorkshire Ripper.
