James Mountain Inhofe is a politician from the United States who represents Oklahoma as the senior senator of the United States.
On the 2017 GovTrack report card, Inhofe was ranked as the member of Congress with the most conservative views.
He maintained his position in 2018. With a score of 0.91 out of 1, he was placed as the fifth-most conservative senator in the U.S. Senate for 2019, behind Ted Cruz, Marsha Blackburn, Joni Ernst, and Mike Braun (R-TX).
He was originally elected to this position in 1994. He is a Republican who served as the chairman of the Senate’s Environment and Public Works Committee twice, from 2015 to 2017 and from 2003 to 2007.
Inhofe has a reputation for opposing climate science. He has advocated for the Inhofe Amendment, which would declare English the official language of the United States, and has backed a constitutional amendment that would outlaw same-sex unions.
