John Ernest Lane Cripps was a British-Australian horticulturist. He was best known for breeding the Pink Lady and Sundowner apples. Cripps was born in Steyning, Sussex, England, and completed a degree in horticulture at the University of Reading.

As soon as the news of the great horticulturist was confirmed by his daughter in an interview hit the internet, most celebrities and fans of John left him dozens of heartfelt messages and most are looking for answers to what exactly caused his demise.
Following John’s death on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at the age of 95, there has not been any revelation on what actually caused the sad demise.
When John’s daughter Hellen spoke to Daily Mail, she mentioned that her father complained a lot about stomach pains, because in his research on inventing the pink lady apple and the others, he had to taste different and numerous types of apples.
She did not mention that as the cause of her father’s death.
