Khaid, an Afrofusion singer and composer whose full name is Sulaimon Shekoni Solomon, was named as the most recent featured artist in Nigeria on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, by Apple Music.
An ecstatic Khaid responded to the news by saying: “I am so grateful and amazed with how far I have come and I am very excited to be an Apple Music Up Next artist and to see that my sound is being accepted globally. This encourages me more to make music for everyone, everywhere around the globe. As I said, I am diverse and I still maintain my ground. Diversity is the vision”
The 17-year-old teenager developed a deep affinity for music at a young age.
Influencer and comedian Sydney Talker first noticed him through his flowing, brash freestyles, which were an outlet for his skills.
Since being discovered, the quickly emerging singer has distinguished himself as a talent by fusing trap and afro groove components.
His flawless and thrilling fusion of emo-trap and Afropop was on full display on his debut EP, “DIVERSITY.” And “With You,” his first big record, helped him gain popularity and fame.
Khaid will be included on Apple Music’s Nigeria Up Next playlist as the newest Up Next artist to be featured in that country.
As part of Apple Music’s expanding roster of Up Next Artists from Nigeria, Khaid is now included with Ninety, Young Jonn, T.I. Blaze, Browny Pondis, Ajebo Hustlers, Jaido P, Wavy The Creator, and SGaWD.
