Kirstie Louise Alley was an American actress. From 1997 to 2000, she starred as the lead in the sitcom Veronica’s Closet, earning additional Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.

For her participation in the criminal drama series The Last Don in 1997, Alley won a second Emmy nomination. On Showtime’s Fat Actress in 2005, she portrayed a fictitious version of herself. Later, she had an appearance on Kirstie Alley’s Big Life (2010), and she competed in Dancing with the Stars 12th season (2011–2012), placing second. With the title role in the comedy Kirstie, Alley made a comeback to acting in 2013.

She made an appearance on the Fox comedy-horror program Scream Queens in 2016. She participated in the 22nd season of the British reality series Celebrity Big Brother in 2018, where she placed second.

Her breakout role was as Rebecca Howe in the NBC sitcom Cheers, for which she received an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe in 1991.

She made an appearance on The Masked Singer in 2022.

Alley died after a battle with cancer.

Her children said in a statement that cancer had just been identified. On social media, her ex-husband Parker Stevenson, her two kids, co-star John Travolta of Look Who’s Talking, and other famous people expressed their sympathies.
